Title I is a federal program designed to help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to meet challenging state content standards. Title I resources are distributed to schools where needs are the greatest, in amounts sufficient to make a difference in the improvement of instruction.
In Anderson District 3, Title I provides funding for instructional specialists and smaller class sizes, as well as for computers, books, and other instructional materials. Each school has a committee of parents, teachers, community members, and administrators to help plan and implement the Title I program in that school.
Comments and suggestions made by parents are important to the planning and implementation of the Title I school-wide programs. If you would like to review the school’s Title I program, participate on a planning team, or offer feedback, please contact the principal, Melissa Davis, at firstname.lastname@example.org . You can also contact the district Title I coordinator, David Nixon, at email@example.com or 864.348.6196.
