If your child turns five on or before September 1, 2020, they are eligible to enroll in 5-year-old kindergarten. Required documents include birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency. If your child is currently enrolled in 4k, you do NOT need to complete the 5K registration process.

Monday, January 18 is a school holiday in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr holiday. School will resume on Tuesday, January 19.
Tomorrow is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and we certainly appreciate and love Officer Zeke Gerrard! He’s a big part of our Flat Rock Family! Officer Gerrard thank you for everything you do for our school family and community.

Pajama Day Twins
On Wednesday, December 16th, Flat Rock Elementary will publish our Christmas caroling videos. Grade level videos will be published throughout the day with the third grade musical being the last group to be published. We hope you enjoy your children's performances.
This is Christy Dodd, principal of Flat Rock Elementary School. We have a lot happening at our school this week. On Wednesday, our caroling videos will be posted throughout the day. We hope you enjoy them. They are our gift to you. We will send meals home with the students on Wednesday and Thursday. Chromebooks will go home on Thursday. They do not need to come back to school until January 4th. Thursday will also be pajama day. Students must meet dress code in order to participate. Friday is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 AM. Students who met both of their MAP goals will be treated to a surprise throughout the week. Thank you!
DHEC will hold a community wide, drive through flu vaccine clinic at Starr Elementary on December 15 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and at Flat Rock Elementary on December 17 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Vaccine, including “flu mist” nasal spray will be available for children and adults. Anyone in the community can participate. Everyone in the car should wear a mask and bring Medicaid/Medicare/Insurance cards.
The Flat Rock clinic will be in the bus drive through along the awning at the gym entrance. Please use the bus entrance to the school from Thompson Road. The Starr clinic will be in the front drive (bus drop off area) of the school, closest to the main entrance.

Today is World Kindness Day! Students at Flat Rock Elementary are being encouraged to show kindness to others.
Friday, November 13th is a Hat Day at Flat Rock Elementary School sponsored by our K5 students and teachers. Students who bring $1 tomorrow will be able to wear a hat to school. Thank you!
