Starr Elementary's 5th Graders enjoyed a visit from Sergeant Major Bradley S. Driver. Sergeant Major Driver retired from active duty in 2021 after over 24 years of service. Students enjoyed hearing about his unique experiences from his diverse assigned duties while in the United States Marine Corps, including his time as a Marine One (Presidential) Crewchief. Driver holds many personal awards, including a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star. 🎖️💙🎖️

🎶5th grader Paisley Hatcher was recently named to the 2024 SCMEA Elementary All State Honor Choir! Paisley completed her audition that was sent to judges around the state and she was picked to be in the choir that is comprised of elementary students from around the state! We are so proud of Paisley and all of her hard work that led to this moment! 🖤💛🐯

🐻 Mrs. Dickerson’s 3rd grade class recently began their opinion writing unit. Students had to decide if they were team sweet or team sour. They had a sweet treat of a gummy bear and a sour patch kid to help them decide. They then wrote their opinion as why they chose either team sweet or team sour. 📝
