Crescent High School is excited to announce the appointment of Brennan Watt as the new Varsity Cheer Coach. She will take over the program from Chasity Dove, who has led the program since 2022.
A 2010 Crescent High graduate, Coach Watt is also a science teacher at Crescent. Her husband Austin is a Crescent graduate as well, and they have a daughter - Mills - who is enrolled in the 4K program at Iva Elementary (and is a future Tiger cheerleader!).
Coach Watt brings with her a wide range of experiences in the sport of cheer. She was a four-year member of the Cheer Team at Crescent, including the 2007-08 State Runner-Up Competitive Team. Following Crescent, Coach Watt was a four-year member of the Presbyterian College Cheer program. She has served as a coach and judge at the national level through Cheersport and has extensive experience coaching summer camps and choreography clinics across the Carolinas. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Anderson School of Dance and has served as a dance instructor at multiple dance studios.
Crescent High Principal Cliff Roberts said, “We are so thankful for the job that Coach Dove and her staff have done. We now look forward to Coach Watt implementing her vision and direction for the program. She knows and loves our school, she knows and loves the sport of cheer, and we are excited about the future direction of the Crescent Cheer program. It is rare to already have someone with her qualifications and experience on your full-time faculty when this type of opportunity comes up. This is a win for Crescent High School and our student-athletes!”

She has a drive to succeed and will push our kids to excel. Her experiences make her highly qualified, and her visions for the short- and long-term futures of our program are purposeful and exciting.
