Students have been working hard to collect classroom recycling bins once per week. They collect plastic bottles and jugs, cardboard boxes, old books, and mixed paper. With the help of Mrs. Wiles, they are seeing first hand how to make a positive impact on our planet! 🌎
Congratulations to Jacob Hewell for being awarded Anderson University's Classroom Development Grant. This Grant is for teachers with less than 5 years experience to be used for school supplies and resources!
Beginning today (10/7) SIMS is selling raffle tickets for a new set of Michelin Tires. Tickets can be purchased in the front office at 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. The proceeds from this raffle will support our district and the United Way. Let's make this a great success! Go Tigers!
PSAT testing will be held at Starr-Iva Middle School for eighth grade students enrolled in honors English I and honors algebra I on Wednesday, October 16th. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Mrs. Burdette and Ms. Smith's 6th grade social studies classes went on an architectural exploration throughout Egypt’s many ancient structures. Students got the chance to study several images of pyramids, housing, and monuments of Egypt and explore all the possibilities that when into the construction of these structures. Students used Keva building blocks to see if they could build the landmarks to match what the Egyptians did. You could say they were walking like the Egyptians!
