SIMS students celebrated today's Red Ribbon Week day: "Don't let drugs turn you inside out" by wearing their shirts inside out!
The Book Fair will end tomorrow after 7th grade lunch (the last lunch). Students should make their way to the library during their Related Arts class or during lunch to make those last minute purchases! Thanks to all who have already bought from the Book Fair!
Today's Red Ribbon Week dress-up day was "Don't hide from drugs! Give them the boot!" Students and teachers celebrated by wearing camo and/ or boots. Tomorrow is "Don't let drugs turn you inside out!" Students and teachers are asked to wear their shirts inside out!
Make-up pictures will be THIS FRIDAY, Nov. 2. Any SIMS student who did not have his or her picture taken at the first picture day should plan to have his or her picture taken on Friday.

Congratulations to SIMS Anglers for their first place finish in the middle school division of the Troll Championship PBC "Dorman" Classic held at Lake Hartwell on Oct. 20. This is the second year in a row that SIMS Anglers have had a first place overall finish at this event!!
This week SIMS kicks off the Annual Dan McCullough Angel Tree fundraiser. Students buy paper links in honor of their best friend. Each winning homeroom for each grade will get a pizza party! If anyone you know is interested in donating to this ministry please contact Guidance.
SIMS students have school spirit AND Halloween spirit! Our students and teachers brought in 39 amazing pumpkins today!
Don't forget that pumpkins are due tomorrow for those who want to participate in the pumpkin carving/ decorating contest! These are a few that have already been brought in by those who JUST COULDN'T WAIT!!
We just wanted to share that we did a bus evacuation drill this morning! Just one more way we're working to keep our students safe and well prepared for anything!
Students who were absent on the first picture day should plan to participate in the picture make up day on Friday, Nov. 2. If your student does not receive a picture proof Tuesday morning then he or she should plan to have his or her picture made on Friday, Nov. 2.
Students who had their picture made at the first picture day will receive picture proofs in AR tomorrow (Tuesday). Please return by Friday, Nov. 2 if you'd like to make a purchase. Also remember to purchase a yearbook if you have not already done so! $30.00 until Christmas!

CHS Girls Soccer Meeting
Have you heard about our pumpkin carving/ decorating contest!? Students are invited to decorate or carve a pumpkin at home and bring it to school on Wednesday, Oct. 24 to show it off! Students will take the pumpkins home on Friday, Oct. 26. Rules are available in the cafeteria.
The Book Fair just arrived!! I plan to set it up after school today so students may go ahead and bring money tomorrow if they plan to buy something. Students may visit the Fair during their related arts class or during lunch- but only if they have money! : )
Just a reminder that 8th grade ads are due tomorrow! If you don't quite have the pictures together but want to reserve a spot in the ads section just go ahead and send the money for the ad tomorrow (Friday) . Send pictures ASAP next week! Thanks!
