Today, Friday, January 27, random canine sweeps were conducted at Crescent High School and Starr-Iva Middle School. Periodically throughout the school year, Anderson 3 will be conducting sweeps as a proactive approach to maintaining a safe learning environment.
All planned canine sweeps are conducted without prior notice to families, students, and staff and are done in a minimally disruptive manner to the learning environment. The use of canines does not indicate that a particular school has illegal contraband on campus. Instead, it demonstrates our willingness to remain proactive in efforts to ensure the safety and security of our schools. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
WIDA ACCESS Testing for English Language Learners will be held January 31st-February 10th at SIMS.

This year, our Math Department, under the leadership of Mrs. Grice, has restarted its Math Olympiad Program. These students compete with over 120,000 students from every state and 39 different countries. The program's objective is to "teach multiple strategies for out-of-the-box problem solving, develop mathematical flexibility in solving those problems, and foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity." In our first contest, Clayton Tilley (Grade 6 ) scored 4/5 in the Elementary Division while Everett Alvidrez (Grade 7 ) and Asher Pamphilon (Grade 8 ) scored 4/5 in the Middle School Division. Kyley Wiles (Grade 7 ) had a perfect 5/5 score in the Middle School Division. We are extremely proud of these students and the restart of our Olympiad Program. We are looking forward to a great competition season!
